(Proposed route map)*
The trails component of the proposal will complete a series of biking / walking / running / rollerblading trail loops throughout Oklahoma City, creating one of the longest and most impressive trail systems in the country. Over 50 miles of new trails will be added, and will create connections that give access to major destinations like the Oklahoma River, Lake Hefner, Lake Overholser, Lake Stanley Draper and other points of interest.
Trails are an important amenity that can be used by all citizens. They help to promote a healthy lifestyle and raise our quality of life, making our city more attractive to the vibrant workforce and the job creators our economy needs to grow, expand and further diversify. The elements in the MAPS proposal are made up of the best and most important elements of the city's Trails Master Plan - a plan that might not be complete for decades to come unless the proposal passes.
